Youth Basic Centerboard Sailing Class, Thursday, Aug. 26, 9 am to noon

This 3-hour introductory class for youth sailors (ages nine through seventeen) who are new to small boat sailing and serves as the prerequisite course to Youth Centerboard Sailing Clinic classes. During class time,  three or four students and one instructor will sail aboard a stable Catalina Capri centerboard sailboat. The basics of sailing will be introduced or reviewed, and students will participate in capsize practice, so participants should wear bathing suits or clothes that can get wet.

Covid-19 guidelines will be followed. Class will take place outside, all participants will be required to wear face coverings when not in the water, and equipment will be sanitized frequently. If the weather is threatening,the class will be postponed, usually to the following Wednesday. Participants will receive an email with details about the class one week prior to the class date. Tuition: $55 per student for General Registration. $50 per student HRMM Household member.
