Ever wonder how acoustic guitars are made and if you have the skills to build one? Luthier and teacher Bill Sterling will take you through the process and talk about his upcoming guitar and Uke building classes scheduled this fall at the HRMM boat school. Bill's guitar build classes are great for beginner woodworkers and have students creating their own instrument to take home.
This is an excellent chance to check out the museum's boat school which overlooks the Rondout Creek in Kingston's historic Rondout district. The school, which operates a completely outfitted wood shop, offers adult and youth classes to inspire skills in woodworking, boat building, and maritime craft. The school also offers restoration services for wooden boats.
