Youth Intermediate Fall Sailing Series: Sept. 10 - Oct. 1, 2021

Description

This series of six three-hour classes is designed for youth students ages ten through seventeen who have some small boat sailing experience and would like to further develop their skills. Students will be sailing with other young sailors on a variety of centerboard boats: Capri and 420s.  US Sailing-Certified instructors will present brief chalk talks on land at the beginning of class, will teach a variety of sailing skills, including an introduction to racing, from nearby safety boats out on the water, and will conclude with a daily debrief session. Safety and Covid-19 safety protocols will be followed. The class will meet outdoors, students and instructors will wear face coverings. Class meets rain or shine. We will sail in light rain. If thunderstorms threaten, we will do on shore learning activities and games.

Class will meet on Monday and Friday afternoons from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. September 10, 13, 17, 24, & 27 and October 1st . Students should commit to attending all six classes. Note, no class September 20th
