The fifth annual Riverport Women's Sailing Conference is going virtual and international!  Join us Saturday, November 13, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, New York time. 

The Keynote Address  will be presented by Tracy Edwards, of Maiden fame, who will talk about how Covid-19 has impacted girls and women worldwide and how the Maiden Factor Foundation is working to counteract the negative impacts of the pandemic.  Dawn Riley, of Oakcliff Sailing, will present How to Develop as a Racing Sailor, and Deborah Mellen, of the Impossible Dream, will discuss Sailing as Therapy. Other topics include Weather/Wind, Rules of the Road, Basic Navigation, Safety Around Large Vessels, Outboard Engine Troubleshooting, Buying a Boat, Sustainable Sailing,  Introduction to Racing, The Racing Rules of Sailing, and  Fast Upwind Sailing for Racers, all presented by experienced women mariners. 

Each participant may choose to attend the keynote address and four workshops out of twelve offered, as well as the closing panel, with local women sailors who will share opportunities for sailing in our area. 

Concurrent sessions will be recorded, so participants will be able to return at a later date and watch presentations they missed during the live conference. 

The fee is $60 per household ($50 for HRMM members).  Gather with a friend or family member or two and prepare to be inspired and educated! Men are welcomed to join us, though all presenters will be highly experienced women mariners. 

Organizations such as sailing teams, community sailors, yacht club groups, and school groups are also encouraged participate. The organization fee is $150.

We will send registrants more information and a Zoom link about a week before the November 13 conference.
