Basics of Woodworking for Youth

Designed for youth ages 10 - 17, this 2 week series meets 3 days a week Tuesday-Thursday and will introduce students to the basics of woodworking and carpentry. Over the course of 6 sessions, each 3 hour class will employ shop safety, measuring, layout,  joinery, and tool use and care. Each class will introduce additional tools and their application. The class will work together to build a small stick framed structure on the museum's campus. As classes progress so will the construction of each student's toolbox that they will take home at the end of the class. Cancellation Policy: Full refunds will be offered for cancellations that occur 30 days or more before a program's registration deadline (if no deadline, the first day of the program). Cancellations between 30 and 7 days will be offered a 50% refund or credit toward another class. Cancellations after the registration deadline or within 7 days of the first day of class (whichever comes first) will not be refunded.
