Description

Introduction to Lofting

Date: Saturday, January 21, 2023, 9:00AM-5:00PM
Instructor: Wayne Ford
Class Size: 8
Registration Deadline: Sunday, January 8, 2023

Boatwright Wayne Ford will lead a class introducing students to the principles of lofting a boat. Lofting a boat is the process by which boat dimensions are drawn to full scale on the lofting floor. From these two dimensional drawings, molds and patterns can be made to build a boat. Students will share in the full scale layout of a traditional boat up to 12 feet in length and will gain hands-on experience which will give them enough understanding to loft their own vessel.
