Foundations of Woodworking: Woodworking Tools-Their Use & Care - Session A - Fall 2023

In this class of the Foundations of Woodworking series, students will learn about the tools in a basic woodworking kit including layout tools, saws, chisels, and planes. Each tool will be examined, its use and proper handling demonstrated, tool maintenance including fine tuning and sharpening, and where to find good tools. Students are encouraged to bring their own tools for examination.

Cancellation Policy: Full refunds will be offered for cancellations that occur 30 days or more before a program's registration deadline (if no deadline, the first day of the program). Cancellations between 30 and 7 days will be offered a 50% refund or credit toward another class. Cancellations after the registration deadline or within 7 days of the first day of class (whichever comes first) will not be refunded.

Instructor: Bill Sterling is a retired art teacher with 30 years experience. He has been building guitars for ten years and teaching guitar building for three years. He studied with Dave Nichols at Custom Pearl Inlay in Malone, NY. Bill is also the education coordinator for the Hudson Valley chapter of the Northeast Woodworker's Association.
