A multimedia presentation based on the book The Story of Historic Kingston. This talk will cover the thriving era in Kingston and Hudson Valley history and their intrinsic relationship with New York City's development. Featuring 950 photographs, topics explored include Glass, Tanning & Barrels, Mountain Houses, Hudson River School Painters, Delaware & Hudson Canal, Bluestone, Brick, Cement, Ice Harvesting, and Kingston Point Park.
Presenter:
Stephen Blauweiss produces work on a wide variety of subjects, from art, education and history to social and environmental issues. With a deep knowledge of history and the arts, including painting, architecture and music, he also produces theatrical events and museum-quality exhibitions on local history, architecture, and the arts in addition to short films about regional artists, including the Woodstock arts colonies.
