Beginner Woodcarving
Description
Come down and spend the day with woodworker and artist Vince Sanborn learning the basics of hand carving wood. You can bring an idea for a sculptural or decorative object, or just improvise. You'll learn about different carving techniques, tools, tips for working with different types of wood, and about characteristics of wood like grain. Your ticket includes your choice of a variety of hard, soft, local, and exotic woods.
NOTE: the picture above is one example of a completed carving that has been sanded and finish-coated, and is meant to show the application of carving skills. It does not represent what your piece will look like at the end of class.
