Make a Double Cross Woven Tray

09/05/2026 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM ET

Description

Join visiting instructor Angela Eastman, a professional artist and weaver from North Carolina, for this special class where you'll be weaving a 12” tray or pie carrier basket from round reed. Suitable for beginners, or students with basket weaving experience who want to try out new weave patterns. Leave with a basket sturdy enough to be used daily and beautiful enough to hang on the wall!

In addition to a tray, you'll have the rare opportunity to take home several basket weaving techniques: double-cross base, Japanese weave, twining and twined arrows, three rod waling, and four row rolled border.

All levels are welcome. All you need to bring to class is a towel and a pair of snips. Moderate hand dexterity is the only prerequisite.
